Results reinforce the conclusions in Smith (1978) and Powell et al (1980). That this region is of outstanding marine biological importance. The author emphasises the changes of one off surveys. The second part of the survey extends from the west side of Loch Linnhe and along the south side of Loch Eil. The fauna and flora is considerably reduced here, reflecting the salinity fluctuations. More fully marine conditions were found at Corran Ferry and at Ballachulish. Lochs include Arisaig, nan Uamh, Ailort, Eil, and Linnhe (Leven Narrows - Ballachulish).
